I lost my sense of smell due to head trauma in 1979. Eventually, sight replaced smell as my main means of evoking memories. It is now the sight of food which makes me hungry. I can still “taste” foods due to the combination of bitter, salty, sour, and sweet it has, but there is no perception of flavor. For example, if I were to close my eyes, I wouldn’t detect what flavor or Life Savers I was eating, but I could still tell what type of candy it was. Overall, my losing the sense of smell did not have a significant effect on my life.

Amazing! It could not just happen – it took a designer – GOD!
