Popular television celebrity Steve Harvey has a video of himself speaking to his audience during a break from filming that has gone viral.
In the video, Harvey can be seen practically yelling at his audience about how important it is to work hard and eliminate sleep in order to become rich.
He tells his audience that there aren’t any rich people who can be found sleeping 8 hours a day, and he feels that if you continue sleeping that amount of time or more, you will not become rich.
Wow… I think I’m in trouble.
Many self-made millionaire motivational speakers lead their audiences into believing that they worked hard and ignored their physical needs in order to become the millionaire’s that they are. They claim that a person should only sleep for a total of 4 hours per day in order to fully take advantage of each hour they have within the given 24 hours. This sounds wonderful, but is it realistic for everyone?
According to the Center for Disease Control, sleep deprivation and stress can lead to many major illnesses and are linked to cardiac arrest and cancer. According to the medical experts, you should not deprive yourself of sleep because it may lead to stress, anxiety, and other issues that can harm you in the long run.
Working hard does not have to be linked to sacrificing your body, mind, or spirit. If you maintain a healthy diet, get proper rest that is associated with your body and its needs, maintain proper time management, and remember to balance your day with something that is relaxing, then you will be on your way to success. Being healthy should be the priority because, without great health, you can’t truly enjoy the success that you will someday achieve.
Although many wealthy people promote isolation, sleep deprivation, and excessive work hours, there are still those who claim that balance is truly the key to a successful life. Motivational speaker Les Brown states that “if you aren’t healthy and feeling your best, then you aren’t successful, no matter how much money you have.”
This statement says it all and helps to explain why so many wealthy people on their death bed continue to say that if they could do it all again, they would spend more time with their loved ones. This means that they would reprioritize their time and their goals to represent a life filled with good health and happiness. Maybe the time has come to identify what it means to be successful.
Living your best life is about being your best self. Great health can’t be bought, and it can’t be replaced if it should happen to fail you. Feel great and then use your energy to achieve your goals of gaining wealth. In the end, your health is the only thing that will matter.
