The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that over 40 percent of the American population over the age of 40 is currently obese. Most of these people may also be at risk of potentially life-threatening consequences.

Obesity is a major risk factor for chronic degenerative diseases like cancer, dementia, diabetes, heart disease and nonalcoholic fatty liver. But not enough physicians talk about the importance of following a balanced diet to address this problem.
